How did you attract/address your audience?
I attracted and addressed my audience by appealing aesthetically to their likes and incorporated their styles into my layout and presentation of my magazine:
Firstly, I used dark colours and stayed away from bright in your face "happy" colours as those are a little more childish or more for magazines that promote rave music or pop music.
So I used grey and blue for the title and as a running theme throughout the magazine, they're more themes associated with black music the same with the deep red & black. They are more seen to be used in more established magazines and as they are associated with those magazines they will attract the audience of the music.
They are also so less "in your face" to convey a more classy image.
The photograph I used is very similar of the type of imagery they use on the same kind of magazines. I decided to make the image the centre of the magazine and have the head over the logo; this is to enforce the importance of imagery in these magazines. The image is strong and that is the first thing you look at , which in comparison to a magazine like “super super" there are many different images , text and colours , they override the front cover and aren't really clear about what the magazine is about:
This is completely different to what my magazine represents. This magazine also represents the type of music it promotes, grime and electro pop, loud busy music. My magazine represents the type of music it promotes, soul, jazz and hip hop music within its conventions.
I also made my magazine £3.20 as this was the average price the audience would pay for a magazine like this.
